The new 2022 Lexus RZ 450e is apparently now available for order in Europe, with the car set to deliver to first customers as early as this summer.
By far the biggest challenge Lexus had in developing the allnew BEV was to bring the Lexus Driving Signature experience with an allelectric powertrain to bear. The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e does just that. With optimal battery and motor placement, the RZ delivers the best weight distribution for responsiveness. The DIRECT4 allwheel drive controls frontand rearwheel drive depending on driving conditions, creating a serene feeling known as “natural”.
What does the future sound like? Without a combustion engine, electric vehicles are naturally very quiet, but audio feedback is an important part of a positive car experience. To keep the excitement of driving alive, Lexus engineers designed and produced the original sound. By matching the frequencies to the speed of the car, the dialogue between the car and the driver is maintained and the driver stays aware of their acceleration.
Acoustic windows in the front and rear seats also help dampen unwanted ambient noise, so drivers can focus on the car’s acoustics – unless it’s music time, of course. The RZ 450e features the North Americandesigned Lexus Interface infotainment system, which was recently introduced on the NX and LX models. And with voice commands, drivers can control the standard 14inch touch screen and easily navigate through their music collection on their favorite devices.
