Remake by Bandai Namco.

The madness of remakes and remasters never ends! Resident Evil 4, The Last of Us, or even GTA 4, publishers seem to have found a vein by playing with our nostalgic fibers. This time, Bandai Namco is revisiting a classic.

It was during the Nintendo Direct Mini on June 28 that the publisher unveiled its latest remake featuring the little yellow hero in a modernized, dynamic version with new gameplay sequences.

Pac-Man returns to PlayStation

23 years later, the iconic yellow ball returns to PlayStation. Publisher Bandai Namco has announced a remake of Pac-Man Word Re-Pac, this 3D platform game released for PS1.

In this game, released in 1999, Pac-Man must save his family members, the “Pac Family”, from evil ghosts who have kidnapped them. It is obvious that, as in the case of the platformer, the road is littered with pitfalls. Pac-Man must explore six areas of Ghost Island in order to fight the main boss, Tok-Man, and free his family.

Gameplay in the style of Mario Kart

With the remake comes new features, as well as several game modes: a quest mode to follow the main story, or a maze mode to puzzle even more over the puzzles to be solved. Players who complete Quest Mode will also unlock “Original Mode”, which allows you to replay the classic version of the game.

In addition to the gameplay phases of the classic platforms, the trailer features episodes very reminiscent of Mario Kart, as we can control Pac-Man in multiple vehicles, on the ground and in the air. According to the official Pac-Man website, the Pac-Man Word Re-Pac remake is set to release for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 26th.
