Translate text from a photo or image
If you come across a poster or any document in English, you don’t need to copy its contents into Google Translate to make it in French. Just use photo translation.
To do this, make sure you have allowed the app to access your camera. If this is not the case, do the manipulation allowing the use of the camera in Google Translate.
Then you just need to look with the camera at the part you need to translate and Google Translate will automatically translate it into the language of your choice. Usually you need to wait a few seconds for the transfer to happen automatically.
Use Google Translate without an Internet connection
If you’re traveling, you may need to use Google Translate even if you don’t have Internet access (or your mobile data is limited, for example). If you’re expecting the bare minimum, know that you can use Google Translate when you’re offline without any problems.
To do this, go to the settings of your application when you are well connected to the Internet (possibly via WiFi). Download the languages you want to use and make sure they are installed on your phone. You can then freely translate with or without an internet connection.
Perform voice translation with Google Translate
When using the Google Translate application, you are not required to enter the text that you want to process. Indeed, you can touch the little microphone icon to perform a live voice translation.
With Google Translate, you can also say the sentence you’re thinking of in French in another language. This can be very useful for easily managing a conversation in a language you don’t speak well.
If you are planning to travel or you often need to translate, keep all these tips in mind, they may come in handy someday! Use Google Translate features regularly as they can change quite often.
