After exploring the new additions to the Xbox 360 Backward Compatible Catalog on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | Yeah, let’s take a look at where it all started. The first Xbox benefits from a particularly rich library of games, and if only a handful of titles can be played on current consoles, it’s an excellent sample of what was done best in 128-bit by Microsoft.
The titles listed below can be played with the original disc or can be purchased in a dematerialized version from the Microsoft Store.

Dead or alive 3
To say that it took so long to see Dead Or Alive 3 become backward compatible is pretty staggering. This first Xbox launch game quickly became the benchmark for fighting games on Microsoft’s console. It must be said that Team Ninja had put the package together for this third episode of its versus fighting franchise: Dead Or Alive 3 made the most of the beast’s abilities and displayed an irreproachable technique, with sumptuous transparency and light effects.
Otogi: myth of demons
If we especially associate the Xbox with the American video game industry, the console is not without Japanese nuggets, and Otogi: Myth of Demons is one of the most illustrious examples. This confidential creation from FromSoftware (Dark Souls) is presented as a hack’n’slash with a well-marked art direction and a particularly dark and depressing atmosphere. A dive into the rich catalog of one of today’s most famous Japanese studios cannot be denied.
Dead red revolver
Long before the glory of the open worlds, Red Dead Revolver already offered the distilled cowboy experience in its purest arcade form. This project abandoned by Capcom and later picked up by Rockstar Games is a nervous TPS and very different from other Red Dead games… but just as fun.
Star Wars, Clone Wars
There was no shortage of Star Wars games on Xbox, and it’s hard to pick one in particular that stands out from the crowd. However, we could cite Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a multi-genre game that takes place in the heart of the Battle of Geonosis. Whether in one of the many vehicles in the game or as Jedi Anakin, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu, this title allows you to relive the most important moments of one of the fundamental conflicts of the LucasFilm saga.
Attention cult game: TimeSplitters 2 is finally backward compatible, and with it comes the cheers of joy from the many, many fans of the Free Radical Design franchise. This quirky FPS takes you back in time exploring various Quantum Leap-style levels, ranging from the Far West to the Chicago ban gangster. Resolutely antiquated in its approach to game design, TimeSplitters 2 (and its sequel Future Perfect) are two must-have games for all FPS fans.
