This week, Netgear unveiled its very first WiFi 7 router, announcing a new addition to its awardwinning Nighthawk hardware line. The new $700 TriBand RS700 Router is capable of wireless speeds up to 19Gbps and will be available throughout the US early in the second quarter of 2023.
The NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 7 RS700S TriBand Router is capable of covering up to 3,500 sq. ft and includes link aggregation for simultaneous multigigabit Internet access and LAN access, allowing a seamless transition from home to multigigabit networking. Other features include:
– High bandwidth 320MHz and 4K QAM channels – New ultrawide bandwidth means 2.4x faster speeds for your connected devices. Smartphones and laptops with WiFi 7 can reach speeds up to 5Gbps.
– MultiLink Operation – Simultaneous use of multiple WiFi bands to improve network reliability, reduce latency and ensure data delivery at maximum speed.
– Lower latency – dramatically improves online gaming and interactive experience and opens the door to nextgeneration immersive AR and VR.
– More capacity for big data – Connect up to 200 devices such as security cameras, smart home devices and speakers and enjoy 4K/8K video streaming, online gaming and HD video conferencing.
– MultiGigabit Speeds with 10GbE Internet Port – Use the 10 Gigabit Internet Port for cable and fiber rates up to 10 Gbps. Compatible with any ISP.
– More wired ports on every device – Connect wired devices for increased productivity with 10Gbps and four 1Gbps LAN ports.

The Nighthawk RS700 router features a new thin chassis with high performance antennas that provide 360degree coverage optimized to support up to 200 simultaneous client devices throughout the home. The 3D antenna design provides the best connection for all types of homes, from sprawling ranches to brownstone highrise buildings. Carefully designed RF circuits provide maximum power to transmit WiFi signals over the longest distances, up to 3500 square meters. ft. The slim profile also provides a smaller footprint, helping the router sit discreetly on a bookshelf or desk.”
While the RS700 routers are powerful on their own, with high speeds and wide coverage, they can be networked with Nighthawk Mesh to provide endtoend WiFi speeds in even the largest homes. The router also supports four separate networks for maximum performance. In addition to the main and guest network, users can create a priority network for low latency applications such as streaming and gaming, ensuring a seamless experience without interference from slower devices. Smart home devices can be isolated in the IoT network to prevent possible intrusion into other networks. These features will be available in future versions of the software.”
