Blue Box Game Studios announced the development ofAbandoned, a new horror game exclusive to PlayStation 5.
Described as a first-person survival shooter, its action takes place in an intriguing open world. The developers are betting on a down to earth, realistic atmosphere. An example given is that of the protagonist Jason who, after a sprint, might be less aiming for time to catch his breath.
Every at first glance trivial action or event in Abandoned can lead to dire consequences. So there will be a certain tactical aspect to take into consideration.
The Dutch creators rely on a cinematographic treatment where the main character must avoid certain conflicts, hide and think twice before carrying out his actions. Blue Box will take advantage of the unique capabilities of the PlayStation 5 console, particularly in terms of 3D sound (Tempest Engine), but also the tactile feedback of the DualSense controller.
Abandoned is a promising project. The small development team is evaluating all possibilities to get the most out of the PlayStation 5. The survival horror game is expected to offer 4K resolution with a frame rate of 60 frames per second (FPS). The photorealistic visual reminds us of the PT demo which, unfortunately, is not compatible on Sony’s new console.
