Accenture has announced its intention to acquire French cybersecurity company Openminded. The services and consulting company explains that this acquisition, announced on Thursday, will extend the presence of Accenture’s security branch in France and throughout Europe. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2008, Openminded provides cybersecurity services, including management, consulting, cloud and infrastructure solutions, with a focus on risk analysis, remediation and regulatory compliance. Openminded achieved sales of 19 million euros in fiscal year 2020. The company has approximately 105 employees and 120 customers, including Sephora, Talan and Thales. Once the transaction is finalized, Openminded staff will join the current Accenture Security workforce.
“Joining forces with Accenture is a great opportunity for our teams and our clients,” comments Hervé Rousseau, founder and CEO of Openminded. “The combination of our talents and our capabilities perfectly enhances our expertise and would allow us to deliver services on a global scale. Today, the fight against cyber attacks requires the implementation of the most advanced technologies, as well as the human resources to make them effective. “
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Earlier this month, Accenture acquired cloud analytics company Core Compete. The vendor leverages machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver managed services, cloud data warehouses, data analytics tools and SAS services in the cloud. This latest acquisition follows the purchase of Businet System, Real Protect and Wolox this year, among other companies.
