Accused of having an affair with the wife of the co-founder of Google, Elon Musk tells the truth

Tesla CEO Elon Musk denies having an affair with Nicole Shanahan, wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

Musk’s denial came after the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, July 24, that his friendship with Brin had ended due to an alleged affair with Nicole.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal reported that Musk had a brief affair with Ms. Shanahan late last year.

The newspaper also reported that this prompted Brin to file for divorce earlier this year, ending a long friendship between the two high-profile tech billionaires.

In response to a story posted on Twitter on Monday, July 25, Musk, 51, confirmed that he and Brin were still friends and revealed that they were at a party together on Saturday night.

He also said that he had only seen Nicole Shanahan, Brin’s wife, twice and in the presence of many other people.

“It’s completely useless. Sergey and I are friends and we were at a party together last night,” Musk wrote. “I only saw Nicole twice in three years, and both times I was surrounded by a lot of other people. Nothing romantic. »

In another tweet, Musk said, “WSJ [Wall Street Journal] published so many best-selling articles about me and Tesla that I lost count. »

Musk, the owner of SpaceX, is also in a legal battle over his abandoned plan to buy Twitter for $44bn (£36.7bn), which is suing him after announcing he’s abandoning his plan to take over the company.
