Microsoft is preparing to release two more Windows 10 updates, in June and July, which will permanently eliminate Adobe Flash Player software, which is no longer supported on Windows PCs.
Update KB4577586, called “Update for Removal of Adobe Flash Player”, has been available as an optional update since October. It now appears to be ready for wider deployment.
Flash Player officially reached end of life on December 31, 2020, following an announcement made by Adobe and major browser manufacturers in 2017.

Windows Latest mentions that Microsoft updated an old blog post at the end of April detailing its Flash removal plans which it claims will lead to the update being rolled out in upcoming Patch Tuesday security updates targeting older versions. Windows 10.
In June, Microsoft plans to release KB4577586 as part of a Windows 10 update preview ahead of next month’s Patch Tuesday update. These updates are not optional, so they should be deployed to all Windows 10 machines through Windows Update and WSUS.
“As of June 2021, update KB4577586,” Update for removing Adobe Flash Player “, will be included in the Preview update for Windows 10, version 1809 and above. It will also be included in every subsequent cumulative update, ”explains Microsoft.
“As of July 2021, version KB4577586,” Update for removing Adobe Flash Player “, will be included in the latest cumulative update for Windows 10, versions 1607 and Windows 10, version 1507. KB will be also included in the Monthly Rollup and Security Only Update for Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Embedded 8 Standard, ”adds the company.
Separately, Windows 10 version 21H1, the May 2021 update, is expected to be released overnight, likely with Patch Tuesday in May. Of course, this version will not ship with Flash Player. Microsoft notes that when users update 21H1 or later, Flash will be removed.
KB4577586 is an optional update to install at this time. However, Microsoft will eventually mark it as a “recommended update.” Once installed, the Flash Removal Update cannot be uninstalled.
