The province of Alberta said Sunday that Alberta has 4,884 active cases of COVID-19, and that number has dropped below 5,000 for the first time since the start of the third wave.
This is confirmation that the health situation seems to be gradually improving as additional restrictions are to be lifted this week.
The Calgary area had fewer than 2,000 active cases, or in 1993, and the Edmonton area had 1,315 cases.
In addition, Alberta has 231 new cases of COVID-19, but there have been no deaths in the last 24 hours and 5,337 tests have been conducted with a positive 4.5% result.
360 people were hospitalized, 96 of them were in intensive care, 222,062 people were cured.
