NONine men aged 21 to 43 and a minor were arrested after finding 1,500 cannabis plants in a garage. If the first was arrested by the investigating judge, then the younger was released.
The raid comes after police received a warning from a neighbor a few weeks ago about a strong smell of marijuana coming from a large garage whose skylights were closed. Through the skylight, the police could see a whole array of extension cords and timers. This discovery made it possible to obtain a search warrant from the prosecutor.
Ten men who collected cannabis were deprived of their liberty and transferred to a detention center in Noorderlaan.
