In addition to releasing its new Ultra Watch and Series 8 smart wearables, Apple has also unveiled its new Apple Watch SE, offering many advanced features at a more affordable price. The latest Watch SE is powered by an advanced dualcore S8 SiP processor, as powerful as the new Series 8 and Ultra. This is 20% faster than previous generations.
Apple has also included international roaming and a new crash detection feature. The new SE watch is priced at $249 and will be available starting September 16, 2022, just like the Series 8.
“Three stylish body colors. Powerful sensors to understand your health and fitness. Innovative security features. Convenient ways to stay connected. Faster dualcore processor for extra performance. The Apple Watch SE is multifunctional and now more value for money than ever.”
The Apple Watch SE is available in Midnight, Starlight, and Silver. They now feature a redesigned matching 40mm and 44mm nylon composite back case, as well as aluminum if needed, and are compatible with all existing Apple Watch bands.
“The SE retains the same body design but has an updated nylon composite back cover, making it lighter than ever. With watchOS 9, Apple Watch SE users can take advantage of the new Compass app in addition to advanced fitness and wellness features.”
Apple Watch SE 2022 features
Apple watchOS 9 will be available on all new watches and all Series 4 and later on Monday, September 12, and requires iPhone 8 or later and iPhone SE (2nd generation) or later running iOS 16 months from Apple Fitness+ for those who purchase a Series 8, SE, or Ultra, or a new Series 4 or later.
