Update: It looks like the next big update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches next week. The patch was spotted on Sony’s servers by the reliable PlayStation game size, and that usually means the update will be available for download the following week.
Ubisoft will also be preparing full patch notes, which will likely be released right before the patch is released. As for what’s going to be included, the developer has already announced the arrival of one-handed swords as a new weapon type, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the update lays the groundwork for Siege of Paris – the second expansion of Valhalla.
Original story: Since its release, players of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla have requested that one-handed swords be added to the game. For some reason the weapon type has not been retained, although it is a Basic Viking weapon throughout Nordic history. if you want to wield a sword, you have no choice but to equip a two-handed in Valhalla.
Fortunately, a few months ago Ubisoft confirmed that one-handed swords are going to be added to the game, but since the launch of Wrath of the Druids – the first expansion for Valhalla – and then the Mastery Challenges update, the developer has been pretty quiet.
It looks like a new title update is coming soon, though, and it’ll likely include one-handed swords. To finish!
The official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account posted a teasing tweet about the often requested weaponry arriving with the next patch.
So when does this update actually drop? Well, we know that the previous fixes were discovered on Sony’s servers about a week in advance, so it could happen as early as next week. And if the official account teases an update, we’ll assume it’s coming very soon.
In addition, the second expansion of Valhalla, Siege of Paris, is supposedly should be released again this summer. We wouldn’t be surprised if this next update paves the way for more information about this upcoming DLC.
