People all over the world mourn death of Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collinswho piloted the command module for the first moon landing in 1969.

Collins, 90, has been battling cancer for some time, and today (April 28) it became known of his death. “He spent his last days peacefully, with his family by his side. Mike has always faced life’s hardships with grace and humility, and he has dealt with this, his final challenge in the same way. ”- His family shared in a statement… “We will miss him terribly. But we also know how good Mike felt after living this life. ”
