Provincial health officials said Monday that a child died from COVID-19 in British Columbia last January.
To date, he is the youngest victim of the virus in the Western Province. The death of a child under the age of 2 was also reported last week.
Regional Director of Public Health, D.re Bonnie Henry said the coronavirus investigation of the infant’s death ended last week and she was able to confirm that the coronavirus was the cause of death.
Public health will restrict information about the child and his or her family. However, it was revealed that he was from the Internal Health Department and was being treated at British Columbia Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
