BMW is ahead of another German manufacturer, VW (34,349 registrations, nine percent market share), followed by the French Peugeot (28,479 registrations). Audi (28,016) and Mercedes (27,525) round out the top five.
BMW (+ 7.09%) is one of the few brands that has increased deliveries to Belgium last year, as the market for new passenger cars as a whole was affected by the global shortage of semiconductors in the context of the pandemic. In 2021, there were 383,123 new new car registrations in Belgium, a drop of 11.2% and the lowest figure since 1995.
Renault, in sixth place, saw its deliveries drop by more than a third. Tesla registrations grew nearly 10%, but the brand Elon Musk loved had a market share of less than one percent in Belgium in 2021.
