
Although Joss Whedon’s Firefly was unceremoniously canceled by Fox Television after just one season and went off the air 20 years ago, over the years there has been a powerful revival of beloved Firefly characters and stories through official series-related novels. comic series, role-playing games, clothing lines, graphic novels, and even a savory firefly-themed cookbook.
Boom! The ongoing comic first kicked off in February 2022 with the most brilliant captain in verse… Kaylie Fry! Written by David Bucher (Song, Joe Hill’s Rain) and enhanced by dynamic illustrations by artist Simona Di Gianfelice (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), this double-sized treat completes the series’ arc in true brown coat style.

Starring Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin, Adam Baldwin and Jewel Stait, the iconic space western follows the space exploits of Captain Mal Reynolds and his quirky Serenity crew. His ultimate demise came after just 14 episodes, although 2005 had an excellent feature film, Serenity, which continued their semi-comic misadventures.
