Are you one of the die-hards who watch Netflix on Wii U or 3DS? Prepare to mourn the SVoD platform on your console. Nintendo has just announced that the application will soon no longer work on both terminals. As of June 30, in fact, enough to give nostalgics time to turn the page gently.
A logical decision?
For several months now, the 3DS has not been produced in the factories of the Japanese manufacturer. As for the Wii U, its abandonment is even earlier. The console did not have the expected success and was a dismal failure for Nintendo. The bleeding was stopped in early 2017, the date of its discontinuation.
The stocks are therefore no longer renewed and the two consoles are starting to get old. The choice to no longer offer the Netflix application is therefore not really a surprise. Today, it remains usable, but has disappeared from Nintendo eShop.
What about the Switch in all of this? The Japanese firm does not hide it: it bases most of its development strategy on its flagship console. Released in 2017, it continues to flow like hot cakes today.
However, Netflix is still not available on the Switch and its Lite version. Too bad, it would probably be time for the situation to change.
