Over the past couple of years, Call of Duty titles have been monstrous when it comes to game size, often reaching close to 200 gigabytes. This is of course a big problem with newer consoles that only have SSD storage which costs a lot of money to expand.
Luckily, it looks like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II may be breaking with the franchise’s tradition of huge file sizes. The Xbox Series X build is currently available for preload, and thanks to that, we now know it’s a reasonable 71.5 gigabytes with everything installed. You can see the size of all individual components in the tweet below because you don’t have to install something you don’t need (which was also suggested in previous games).
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II launches October 28 on PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
