During Nintendo Direct on February 17, the Japanese manufacturer offered us a lot of announcements. Admittedly, a good majority of them will not have marked the players, despite the presence of Splatoon 3 or an HD edition of The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, but retro game lovers have had their fill, like the return of Legend of Mana or the immediate availability of Capcom Arcade Stadium.
It’s available now
First good news, Capcom Arcade Stadium is available here, now, on Nintendo Switch. To tell the truth, this surprise release is only a half-surprise since the compilation was expected for this month of February and with the imminent arrival of Ghost ‘n Goblins Resurrection, it was only a matter of time.
The players will be able to find titles of yesteryear that made us shiver in the arcades. In total, 32 classics are available, some playable up to 4 players locally. New options are emerging such as rewind, the ability to play on game speed or difficulty level and other display settings.
This compilation Capcom Arcade Stadium is available for free download, including 1943 The Battle of Midway. The other titles are available in side-by-side buyable DLC packs containing 10 games each. Finally, we find the original Ghost ‘n Goblins, presented as standalone additional content.
Finally, in the wake, Capcom announced that this collection Capcom Arcade Stadium is also coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. For now, there is no date, with the Switch version being the only one available on February 18, but it should happen soon.
