The classic switch is often the weak link in smart lighting systems. Indeed, once it is turned off, the smart bulbs it powers become inaccessible. Signify took advantage of CES 2021 to unveil a Philips Hue power supply that solves this problem.
It allows users to turn their existing switch into a smart switch and ensures that their connected lighting is always accessible. The Philips Hue Wall Switch Module is expected to be marketed in the spring in Europe at a unit price of € 39.95 or € 69.95 in a pack of two. The box is installed behind a recessed switch. It works with batteries with an advertised lifespan of 5 years.
The Philips Hue range is also enriched by other novelties: two models of outdoor lamps Philips Hue Amarant (149.99 €) and Philips Hue Appear (149.99 €) as well as a new wireless dimmer Philips Hue dimmer switch (€ 19.95). The latter has a magnetic holder that attaches to the wall. You can detach it and use it as a remote control. It works with all Hue lights to control their on / off, intensity and set routines according to the time of day.
