CES 2023: innovation that will prevail

After reviewing the most innovative products at the world’s largest tech show, last week we compiled a list of the best CES 2023 products. We’ve highlighted six products that are innovative, unique, and stand out. most positive impact. They are here.

Wireless TV Displace

Televisions have been the centerpiece of the show for decades, and their makers have set up some of the biggest stands there. Therefore, it was extremely unlikely that a six-person startup could outperform the largest companies at the show. However, that’s exactly what Displace did by unveiling the world’s first wireless TV at CES 2023.

The TV is remarkably light and runs on hot-swappable batteries that last about a month. It connects wirelessly to a base station to receive content. Another innovation: the TV can be easily moved to different places in the house. It can be attached to almost any surface without support thanks to its suction technology. The device also does not use a remote control, it is controlled by gestures and a smartphone app.

Displace wants to improve the TV experience and has big ambitions in this area. Its 55-inch TV will go on sale later this year for $2,999.

Linked ring Evie by Movano

Evie Ring

Movano creates the first wearable fitness tracker to be FDA-certified as a medical device to improve the accuracy and reliability of wearables. This is because most modern fitness trackers are actually not very accurate. And they are usually not needed. But Movano’s idea to bring medical-grade fitness trackers to market is big.

For the first product the company brings to market, Movano also solves another problem with current fitness trackers: almost all of them are designed for men first and then eventually adapted to the needs of women. Movano is changing the scene with the Evie ring, making it a women’s first product optimized for women’s health.

Evie will be released in mid-2023. Followed by fitness trackers for men.

HTC Vive XR by Elite

The ZDNET team also went to CES 2023 to see if anyone could get us interested in the metaverse. And HTC has kept its word by unveiling arguably the most impressive XR headset we’ve ever seen, and reiterating its promise to work on an open ecosystem that will make the Metaverse an AI-powered 3D version of the Internet. It will be a much better metaverse than anything we’ve seen so far.

The HTC Vive XR Elite headset is light and comfortable, offers high-quality visuals, and is relatively modestly priced ($1,999) for a high-end headset. The headset can stream content from phones, PCs, and online virtual reality platforms. HTC claims to be working with all players in the virtual reality (VR) industry who want to create an open and cross-platform metaverse like the open internet.

At CES 2023, Neil Stevenson, author of Virtual Samurai, joined HTC in calling for an open metaverse. Recall that in his novel, the author contributed to the creation of a vision of the metaverse. He is also known for advocating an open metaverse. His blockchain-based startup Lamina1 is emerging as a key player in the open metaverse debate.

If you want to start jumping into the metaverse, including creating your own avatar, you can go to with or without a headset.

Lenovo ThinkBook Wireless Dock

Among Lenovo’s many announcements of new laptops and desktops – and even a smartphone – is the Lenovo ThinkBook Wireless Dock.

The docking station allows your laptop to wirelessly connect to two 4K monitors at 60Hz. The accessory also comes with a wireless charging pad. The latter works with one Lenovo laptop model for now, but may be integrated into future models in the future.

The accessory works on the basis of Synaptics technology. It’s also built into Targus’ wireless docking station, which will work with laptops from other brands.

As such, this technology could change the lives of increasingly mobile professionals who work between their office, home, and various conference rooms. This would allow them to connect to any large screen more easily, much more efficiently and more flexible than current USB-C connectivity solutions. We hope that the technology will expand in the coming years.

The peak of interest in folding smartphones came in 2019. Therefore, after this date, most phone manufacturers put their foldable devices aside. But not Samsung, which keeps releasing new foldable models every year. At CES 2023, Samsung Display’s components division showcased its latest smartphone concepts of the future. There are many different patterns that flex, flex, and expand.

Among these prototypes, the most ambitious is the Flex Hybrid, which opens like a book. Very similar to today’s Galaxy Fold 4, except it can then deploy a hidden screen extension to provide even more screen real estate. So it really moves from smartphone to tablet.

It’s unclear how useful this concept will be, but its ability to fold and expand at the same time is impressive. It gives a tangible vision of a future where our smartphones, still fitting in our pockets, can expand to provide us with larger surfaces and a better experience.

Among the Internet stars of recent years is Bunny, whom the New York Times called “the talking dog of TikTok.” This shepherd dog has really learned to communicate with his owner, using his sound box to type in over 90 words. His viral videos have allowed him to amass over 8 million followers on his TikTok account.

The sound box Bunny uses is made by FluentPet. And at CES 2023, the company announced FluentPet Connect.

The device not only allows you to hear the sound your pet makes when he presses a certain button, but also receives an alert on your phone when he presses one of the buttons. Therefore, if you are not near him at this time, you can tell that he wants to communicate with you. For example, he might want to let you know that the postman has just come through… or that someone he doesn’t know is at the door.
