Summer is approaching, which means Hollywood is releasing some hilarious blockbusters (for the first time in a long time), including Tomorrow’s War starring Chris Pratt.
Ahead of the film’s premiere on July 2, Amazon Studios unveiled the final trailer for the film. “Tomorrow’s War” a sci-fi invasion thriller directed by Chris McKay (Lego Batman) starring Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy).
In the film, Pratt stars as military veteran, educator, and devout family man Dan Forester, recruited to fight a raging alien conflict three decades into the future.
When Forester is on the front lines in this otherworldly battle, he finds himself in the company of a genius scientist named Vicki Winslow, played by Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale).
Pratt and a group of his fellow time travelers team up with Winslow to devise an attack strategy to save their dying planet before humanity is destroyed.
Seeking to save the world in 2051 for his little daughter, Forester teams up with a brave squad of soldiers and his estranged father (J.K.Simmons) on an 11-hour quest to rewrite Earth’s gruesome fate.
See if they can really save the world when Tomorrow’s War hits Amazon Prime Video on July 2.
This final trailer is vastly superior to the May 26 teaser and offers a full body reveal of the hungry, lizard-like extraterrestrials of this future, with some pretty dazzling visuals.
The trailer still evokes a sense of déjà vu (think Edge of Tomorrow meets A Quiet Place) as it seems to borrow a few common sci-fi plot tricks. But Pratt succeeded thanks to his charm and charisma. Time will tell.
