Coronavirus: a demonstration against health measures announced next Sunday in Brussels

LThe non-profit organization Viruswaanzin (viral madness) announced in a statement on Sunday that it plans to organize a demonstration against sanitary measures on Sunday August 16 in Brussels. The group also wants to demand the resignation of virologist Marc Van Ranst.

According to the organizers of the event, the participants will walk individually through Brussels between 12:00 and 17:00 and will pass through the Tour des Finances. Everything will be done in compliance with health measures intended to slow the spread of the virus, assure the organizers. “A consultation with the City of Brussels and the police took place”, they add.

The group does not deny the existence of the coronavirus but disputes its degree of contagiousness and its lethality. A number of people behind this association had previously brought proceedings against the health measures, but their claims were rejected by the Brussels Court of First Instance. he had ruled that “their arguments made no scientific sense.” However, this appeal will be re-analyzed on appeal on October 14.
