COVID-19: 31 new cases in Northern Ontario

Northern Ontario’s public health divisions reported 31 new cases and 457 active cases on Tuesday.

Of the cases listed in Northern Ontario, 26 come from the Porcupine region, where the average weekly cases per 100,000 inhabitants are still among the highest in the province at 47.15.

The Porcupine Health Division continues to report the newest cases in Northern Ontario, with 26 new infections and 349 active cases.

The small town of Greenstone in the Thunder Bay area, which has been hit hard over the past week, appears to be in a lull, and the Thunder Bay area health department reported only one new infection on Tuesday.

In terms of immunization in Northern Ontario, 65.3% of the eligible population received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
