COVID-19: 34 new cases

New Brunswick Public Health announced 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. This is the second smallest daily total since the beginning of the month.

Of the 34 new cases, 12 are in the Fredericton area, 10 in the Moncton area, six in the Saint John area, five in the Miramichi area, and one in the Chaleur / Péninsule acadienne

In the last seven days, Public Health has identified 403 new cases of COVID-19, up from 349 in the previous seven days. This is an increase of 15.5%.

The number of active cases is now 516, 9 less than on Monday.

A week ago 523 and a month ago 997.

Active cases are now distributed as follows: 172 in the Moncton area, 113 in the Saint John area, 107 in the Fredericton area, 104 in the Miramichi area, eight in Madawaska-Victoria and Restigouche, and four in Chaleur / Péninsule acadienne.

Twenty-two people are hospitalized, one more than the day before and six for a week. Of these, 14 are in intensive care.

The number of deaths in the province since the start of the pandemic remains unchanged at 122.

According to Public Health data, 91,872 New Brunswick residents ages 12 and older are not yet twice vaccinated against COVID-19, including 47,328 who have not received a single dose of the vaccine.
