COVID-19: Cases in Alberta Continue to Fall

The number of hospitalizations continues to decline. Currently, 435 people have been hospitalized with COVID-19, including 122 in intensive care.

The Calgary borough remains the hardest hit with 2,583 active infections, followed by Edmonton with 1,647.

Northern Alberta has 883 active cases, compared with 788 in central Alberta and 403 in the south of the province.

The case is not tied to a specific region.

In 24 hours, health authorities conducted 8,315 screening tests. The average level of positivity in the province over the past 7 days is 5.95%.

To date, 2,841,779 doses of the vaccine have been administered in Alberta.

COVID-19 has killed 2,231 people since the start of the pandemic in the province.
