In terms of hospitalizations, the data point to 60 hospitalized patients, 48 at Hull Hospital (eight in the ICU) and 12 at Pontiac Hospital. Since the start of the health crisis, 717 people have been hospitalized in Otaue for treatment of the virus, 30 of whom were hospitalized last week.
Sequencing in Quebec has not confirmed a single case of the new variant. Thus, the number of variants confirmed by sequencing is stable in Otahua for a total of 279. Of these, 269 are British variants, five are from Nigeria, three are from South Africa and two are from Brazil.
For all samples of confirmed COVID-19 cases from Outahua at screening in the past seven days, 93.4% were associated with variant. In the province as a whole, the positivity rate is 83.5%.
In addition, the Otaue vaccination campaign delivered 150,294 doses of the vaccine, an increase of 2,665 doses over the previous report.
