The royal decree containing the measures decided on Friday by the Concertation Committee to stop the spread of the coronavirus was published in the Belgian Monitor on Saturday.
It follows that covered playgrounds, which were not explicitly mentioned during the press conference of the Consultation Commission (Codeco) on Friday, must keep the doors closed.
The measures come into force this Saturday at 11 am However, a transition weekend is planned for the events that can still be organized this weekend for a maximum of 4,000 visitors, underlines the Office of the Minister of the Interior, Annelies Verlinden, in a press release.
As of Monday, events, cultural and other representations, as well as indoor conferences, will only be authorized under the following conditions: maximum 200 visitors, public seated with mask and use of the Covid Safe Ticket of 50 visitors.
All private gatherings and indoor activities are also temporarily prohibited with the exception of sports activities, meetings in private homes or in low-capacity tourist accommodation, weddings and funerals, or even when they are intended for vulnerable groups.
Where it is already mandatory to wear a mask, it is now from the age of six.
Other measures already in force have been confirmed, such as the opening hours of the horeca establishments only between 5 am and 11 pm and the holding of indoor sports competitions without public.
Cinemas can only accommodate a maximum of 200 people per theater, subject to a distance of 1.5 m between each group.
Indoor playgrounds will also need to close.
Companies, for their part, will be prohibited from organizing teambuildings with physical presence, both indoors and outdoors.
People aged twelve years or older who do not have their main residence in Belgium and arrive on Belgian territory from countries outside the European Union or the Schengen area, who are not on the white list (searchable at info-coronavirus.be) must have a negative PCR test result.
The new measures as well as the existing ones are applicable until January 28, 2022 inclusive. They will be reevaluated during a new Consultation Committee in the week of December 20, 2021.
