Covid: the number of positive cases tripled in 15 days in the Dordogne

As everywhere in France, the Covid epidemic is increasing in the Dordogne. The latest figures show an incidence rate (the number of positive tests per 100,000 inhabitants) of 242. This rate has tripled in 15 days. On November 13, it was 82 per 100,000. Therefore, we have far exceeded the peak of the fourth wave in August, which was 176. If the upward trend continues, the Dordogne will soon reach the epidemic peak of last February during the second wave.

So there are a lot of positive screening tests, but the situation in the hospital is not too tense yet. As of November 30, the occupancy rate for resuscitation beds was 33.5%. A figure twice less than last May when up to 71% of the beds were occupied by patients with coronavirus.

Three deaths in a week in a Dordogne hospital

Therefore, there are fewer hospitalized patients, but the numbers continue to rise in the last two weeks: there are 113 people hospitalized in the Dordogne, including seven in intensive care. The hospital that registered three deaths this week from Covid.
