Cryptocurrency: 5 altcoins that will be relevant in 5-10 years

All cryptocurrencies, except Bitcoin (BTC), are considered an alternative to the latter, which is why they are called altcoins (alternative coins). There are more than 19,000 altcoins on the market, but not all of them are promising. If you want to diversify your portfolio with these assets, you need to take the time to analyze their viability. Speaking of which, it looks like altcoins like Ethereum (ETH), Monero (XMR), Binance Coin (BNB), Chainlink (LINK), and Aave (AAVE) have a future.

Ether (ETH)

On July 20, the Layn account tweeted out a list of 5 altcoins that have a high chance of existing in 5-10 years. Ether (ETH), the native token of the Ethereum blockchain (launched in 2015), was at the very top of the list. It must be said that this is the second largest cryptocurrency in terms of capitalization. Speaking of which, Ethereum (ETH) currently has a market capitalization of over $176 billion.

Ether is valued at around $1,400 and has traded over $22.9 billion in the past 24 hours. There are 121,632,867 ETH tokens in circulation, there is no reserve. According to CoinMarketCap, this altcoin is regularly traded on platforms such as Binance, OKX, BingX, and MEXC.

Monero (XMR)

Launched in 2014, Monero (XMR) is considered the 28th largest cryptocurrency with an estimated market capitalization of over $2 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. Currently, the price of this altcoin is around $145 and the trading volume is over $180 million in 24 hours. There are 18,150,354 XMR tokens in circulation, reserves are not available. According to CoinMarketCap, the best cryptocurrency exchanges to trade Monero are: Binance, OKX, MEXC, and Bybit.

Binance coin (BNB)

Launched in 2017, Binance Coin (BNB) is currently trading at around $255 on exchanges such as Binance, BingX, and MEXC. Altcoin is ranked 5th on the list of top cryptocurrencies with a market capitalization of over $41 billion. Its 24-hour trading volume is estimated at over $1.5 billion and the number of tokens in circulation is 161,337,261 BNB.

Founded in 2017, the altcoin Chainlink (LINK) currently has a market capitalization of over $3 billion, making it the 23rd largest crypto according to CoinMarketCap. It is currently worth around $6 and has an estimated trading volume of over $858 million in 24 hours. There are 467,099,971 LINK tokens in circulation.

Aave (AAVE)

Launched in 2017 as ETHLend, Aave (AAVE) is now the 40th largest cryptocurrency with a market capitalization of over $1.2 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. With an estimated trading volume of $329.7 million over the past 24 hours, its price is hovering around $87. There are 13,915,774 AAVE tokens in circulation.

Among the altcoins available on the market, some are more reliable and promising than others. However, if you want to invest in cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin (BTC), assets such as Ether (ETH), Monero (XMR), Binance Coin (BNB), Chainlink (LINK), and Aave (AAVE) can be good options.
