If you are looking for a versatile CNC cutter that can be used in a workshop, home or small business, you might be interested in the Cubiio X. Launched on Kickstarter this month, the project has already raised over $360,000 thanks to over 250 backers with 27 days left to go. Early sponsor contributions are now available for a new project from around £1250 to £1039 (depending on current exchange rates).

“Cubiio X deals with objects larger than itself. By producing four different lengths of steel cord timing belts, the working space can be adjusted up to 4 by 4 feet or 2 by 6 feet. With this compact machine, you can make a table for 4 people or even a Christmas tree. Cubiio X cuts wood, plastic, metal, etc. The spindle is guided by a solid rail and driven by a precision ball screw. The Zaxis motor gently and gradually guides the rotating cutter into the workpiece. Actual testing shows that the Cubiio X can reliably machine aluminium, copper and brass with carbide tips.”
