Cyberpunk 2077 returns to PlayStation Store

Six months have passed since the withdrawal of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store.

Today, CD Projekt RED studio announces the return of its sci-fi game to Sony’s online store.

This is the PlayStation 4 version, backward compatible with the PlayStation 5 version.

CD Projekt RED reiterated its intention to distribute an important update called next-gen for Cyberpunk 2077. The latter is expected by the end of 2021. “The update will take full advantage of the new console’s more powerful hardware.”

State of play with Cyberpunk 2077

When it was released, Cyberpunk 2077 was simply not playable on previous generation consoles.

Since then, CD Projekt RED has tried to correct its catastrophic launch with more or less satisfactory updates. Even so, the game remains technically messy, in part due to its very ambitious nature.

The problem is, several RPG elements are limited compared to what was promised. And this is not something that can be changed by updates, unless you start over on a better basis as was the case with Final Fantasy XIV.

The reality is such that Cyberpunk 2077 will never live up to what was conveyed by the studio’s marketing department. At least the developers have not yet launched and the towel and continue to fix issues. Version 1.23 seems to have fixed several crash, so that’s a good sign. On the other hand, the game will be remembered for a long time and not necessarily for the right reasons …
