But if you’re looking to start a career in interstellar bounty hunting, or at least want to dress up like everyone’s favorite mercenary, then this replica Mandalorian helmet from Denuo Novo is a great place to start.
Denuo Novo is a relatively new baby in the world of movie and TV copy, founded in 2021. It is run by Joel Weinshanker, owner of the National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA), so they have a lot of pedigree. in props and collectibles.
With the arrival of The Mandalorian season 3, we thought we’d take the excuse to check out Denuo Novo’s mind-blowingly expensive replica of the Mandalorian helmet to see if it’s worth its weight in credits. This stunning replica costs $700. (will open in a new tab) and comes to us as a result of cooperation with Lucasfilm. Denuo Novo were kind enough to send us one for review, so let’s check it out.

Denuo Novo Mandalorian Helmet Design

The Denuo Novo has exceeded all expectations when it comes to helmet design – it looks phenomenal. We’ve been poring over screenshots from the show for ages, trying to find any flaws or differences between the replica and the helmet Dean Djarin wears throughout the show. And honestly? We cannot find any visual inaccuracies.
The shape and style are perfect, from the iconic T-shaped peak to the metallic finish. What sets this helmet apart from the cheaper options on the market is the weather resistance. Much attention has been paid to the accumulated grime and grime that the armor of a bounty hunter like Mando would acquire in the field. It’s not just stuck there randomly – it looks exactly how we imagine a real worn helmet would look after a few rides on the outer edge.
If we’re being picky, the reflective sheen of the helmet isn’t as bright compared to the shots we see on the show. You can certainly see your face on the metal surface, but it’s not as reflective as it is in the show – we’re guessing that’s because it’s made of tin-coated fiberglass rather than a solid piece of metal. This at least means that you are less likely to leave fingerprints all over the surface.

While the helmet itself is great, the packaging leaves a lot to be desired. Sure, it’s well protected, with a pack of days worth of peanuts, but there’s no fancy box or packaging – it’s just a helmet and a piece of map that shows the helmet and some information about it. Most things you can pay $700 for come in a nice box, that’s all I have to say.
Denuo Novo The Mandalorian Helmet features and convenience

This is a helmet, so the list of features is quite small. My testing process consisted entirely of checking details on screenshots from the show and attending all of my Zoom meetings over the course of several days.
The Mandalorian helmet fits hats up to US size 8. (will open in a new tab) and comes with foam padding which makes it very comfortable to wear. The website doesn’t list the weight, but ours came in at 3.22 pounds – enough to feel heavy and premium, but not so heavy that your neck cramps after extended use. You also get a few extra headliners to keep the helmet snug. They are machine washable and can be placed anywhere thanks to the Velcro fastener that attaches to the helmet lining.
The dark purple visor is transparent and provides decent visibility when you wear it, although my own visibility was virtually non-existent because I couldn’t wear this helmet over my goggles, so I had to be visually impredalorian whenever you wear it. I put it on. If you wear glasses and are thinking about getting them, keep that in mind and maybe look into cosplay contact lenses. Your vision is somewhat limited when wearing a helmet as the bottom half/third of your vision is covered by your “cheeks” so you have to be careful where you place your feet.

At some distances and at some angles, you can see the helmeted person’s face through the visor, which breaks the illusion a bit, but it’s probably a better compromise than the alternative of not being able to see through the wearer at all. . Whatever the case, the visor looks like it’s through darkened sunglasses.
Denuo Novo The Mandalorian Helmet: Price
I guess it’s time to address the elephant in the room – cost. The Mandalorian helmet costs a whopping $700 and can be purchased directly from the Denuo Novo store. (will open in a new tab).
For reference, the official Black Series Mandalorian helmet costs just under $150. (will open in a new tab). This means that you are paying almost five times more for this copy than for The Black Series version. Does the Denuo Novo edition have any additional features that set it apart from the competition? Other than craftsmanship and detail, there is nothing to it.

Ironically, you actually get less in some ways. The Black Series helmet has a fully detailed interior, while the Denuo Novo version has a foam lining. This now makes the Denuo Novo much more comfortable to wear, so if you’re looking for a cosplay option, this is the best choice.
The Black Series version also comes with a plug-in functional LED light as well as two red interior lights, while the Denuo Novo version has no electronics at all. So what are you paying all this extra money for?
Well, we’re not entirely sure. It’s certainly a stunning, true-to-screen replica, and the extra atmospherics and detail make it a little better than The Black Series version, but five times better?
Should I buy the Denuo Novo Mandalorian helmet?
You already know if you’re the type of person who’s willing to shell out $700 for a replica Star Wars helmet. This is a very niche product for a very niche audience – cosplayers and collectors who value screen accuracy and detail and don’t mind paying big bucks for it.
If this is you, and you’re a big fan of The Mandalorian, then you’ll certainly be impressed with what Denuo Novo has created here. This is an amazing replica and you can be sure that I will wear this item at home for several weeks. But would I part with $700 of my own money? We talked and the answer is no.
