Digimon World: Next Order, Switch and PC PlayStation versions announced and dated, ‘multiple Digimon projects’ in development

Digimon games have become popular again within a few years, and Digimon World: Next Order has something to do with it. Released in 2016 on PlayStation Vita and then in 2017 on PS4, the title could never be spoken of again, especially after the release of Digimon Survive (available from €44.99 on

However, the collectible RPG that invites us to grow and train two Digimon partners at the same time will be widely discussed again in a few months thanks to a port on PC and Switch signed by HYDE. The release date for Digimon World: Next Order is set for February 22, 2023 on these new platforms.

First published in 2017, the game puts you in the shoes of a hero responsible for restoring a virtual world that has fallen into chaos. To help you with this task, you will be able to find and recruit over 200 Digimon, which you will need to raise, train and bond with them. The player-created city of Floatia will be your rallying point, where you can recruit Digimon, upgrade buildings, grow crops, and expand it into a massive metropolis.

And if you’re hoping for something new for the series, good news: Producer Kazumasa Habu has confirmed that there are “several Digimon projects” currently underway at Bandai Namco! Therefore, digital monsters will not disappear from our consoles anytime soon.
