Disney Plus Day just gave us our first look at Obi-Wan Kenobi’s new ‘Star Wars’ spinoff series

As part of a highly anticipated Disney Plus Day event on Friday (November 12), Disney released a reel for the new spinoff series “Obi Wan Kenobi” and piqued our interest.

The preview for the new TV series “Star Wars” featured star Ewan McGregor (Obi Wan Kenobi) and teased the possibility that we may see another showdown with Darth Vader, played once again by Hayden Christensen. “Having another hit at each other could be satisfying for everyone,” jokes McGregor.

The broadcast network’s birthday celebration was a bit shorter than expected, lasting just over an hour instead of a full afternoon, and sadly, there was no official teaser for the upcoming live-action show for “Star Wars “. However, there was some concept art, so it was good. Actor O’Shea Jackson Jr., who plays a still unnamed character on the new show, even jokingly tweeted that he was disappointed.

According to Disney, the story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Revenge of the Sith” and you can watch the sizzle on Disney Plus here. If you need a run-through of the timeline for your memory, here is our guide on how to watch the Star Wars movies in chronological order.

Disney Plus Day also featured a preview of a special documentary on Boba Fett as part of the promotional preparation for the premiere episode of “The Book of Boba Fett” on December 29. Entitled “Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett.” , “includes interviews with George Lucas, Dave Filoni, Joe Johnston, Ben Burtt and more as they offer a glimpse of the most famous bounty hunter in the galaxy, bringing him to life and the influence he has had on fans. Available to watch on Disney + right now.

Jeremy Bulloch played Boba Fett in the original trilogy before Temuera Morrison inherited the role, first playing Jango Fett, the bounty hunter from whom Boba was cloned, in the prequels and then Boba himself in “The Mandalorian.”

You might remember that at the end of the season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian” there was a post-credits sequence where we suddenly found ourselves on Tatooine and inside Jabba the Hutt’s palace. We saw Jabba’s former right-hand man and presumably heir to the gangster’s underworld empire, Bib Fortuna (Matthew Wood). Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) descends the steps into the throne room, attacks a pair of Gamorrean guards as Fett follows her a few steps behind her. Fortuna is as shocked as we are when we learned that Fett had survived the Sarlacc. Without even saying a word, Fett punches him, yanks the bulky body off Fortuna’s throne, and sits there himself, Shand by his side.

It appears that Boba has returned to Tatooine to make the underworld empire run by the notorious gangster Jabba the Hutt his own. This limited series is rumored to begin in “Chapter 17”, making it a direct continuation of the second season of “The Mandalorian.”

The official “Star Wars” Twitter page also changed its banner today, to feature some Boba Fett posters. “The Boba Fett Book” begins airing on Disney + on December 29, and there will be eight episodes, each approximately one hour in length, with a new installment each week. All episodes of seasons 1 and 2 of “The Mandalorian” are also available to stream on Disney Plus.

Finally, in other “Star Wars” related news, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “Rogue Squadron” has been delayed. Director Patty Jenkins and writer Matthew Robinson have been developing the project for more than a year with the goal of beginning principal photography in 2022. However, sources say the producers and team of filmmakers realized that the Jenkins’ schedule and other commitments would not allow it. for the window needed to make the film in 2022.
