“Supplino is a Quick & Dirty PSU (power supply) built using some of the commonly available breakout boards, an Arduino Nano (or Arduino Nano Every) and a graphical LCD. The output power is provided by a DC/DC buck converter based on the XL4016E1 chip with the ability to regulate the output voltage.

In terms of power input, we prefer to feed it through an external 20÷30V brick power supply, such as those used for laptops or older printers: this solution is safe and cheap, but you can use a larger case and then power it inside . transformer + diode bridge + capacitors, but with a lot of precautions. We used this project to recycle some old 24V printer power supplies.”

“Arduino does not control the buck converter module, but only measures the output voltage and current using a current sensor and then displays these values ​​on the display. The power value is also displayed. An optional analog gauge can be configured to display voltage, current, or power, giving the graphics a retro look.

The output power on the banana connector is fed through a relay, so the Arduino turns off the output power when an external button is pressed or when abnormal events occur (short circuit / undervoltage, overload, overvoltage).

There is a secondary buck-DC converter module configured for 5 V for logic power, receiving input from the same regulated module input. After all, you can also transfer that 5V to the panel (by making adjustments to the provided package).”
