Three years after the release of Dragon Ball Z, Kakarot will offer a PS5 and Xbox Series version, as well as Bardock-themed DLC, as part of the Season Pass 2.

Like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dragon Ball Z’s single-player RPG Kakarot hasn’t had its last word. On January 13, 2023, the game will offer an optimized version for PS5 and Xbox Series with a visual program update. But that’s not all: Bandai Namco plans to release a second season pass that will bring three new story chapters. And the first will be dedicated to the symbolic character Bardock.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot: Bardock Arrives in Narrative DLC

Bandai Namco has just released a new trailer for this extra content titled “Bardock – Alone with Destiny”. The video centers on the battle on the planet Kanassa, where Frieza sent Goku’s father and his troops to conquer it. In terms of gameplay, this seems to be the cleanest line of the main game. The DLC will also let you explore parts of the planet Vegeta, Frieza’s base, and more before taking on the tyrannical villain at the top.

Everything will be available “soon”, with no release date at the moment, save for a vague “2023”. As for the other two Season Pass DLCs, they have yet to be revealed. For those who already own Dragon Ball Z Kakarot on PS4 or Xbox One, please be aware that the upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series optimized version will be free. It will offer improved graphics, reduced load times, and a 4K display at 60fps.
