It was through social media and a press release that the announcement was made by EA/Motive.

The Iron Man game, which is currently in pre-production, will be a third-person adventure game for a single player. Olivier Proulx, who previously worked on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy at Eidos Montreal, will direct.

Developed in partnership with Marvel Games, the game will feature an original narrative that taps into Iron Man’s rich history, captures the complexity, charisma and creative genius of Tony Stark, and lets players experience what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man.

We are thrilled to be partnering with the talented team at Motive Studio to bring our original vision to life in one of Marvel’s most important, powerful and beloved characters. Their experience in creating established worlds of entertainment and addictive gameplay—combined with their genuine passion for the armored icon—fuels our quest to deliver a love letter to a legendary hero in the form of the ultimate Iron Man video game.

– Bill Rosemann, Vice President and Creative Director of Marvel Games.

EA Motive is known for its previous work on Star Wars: Squadrons, Star Wars Battlefront II, and the Dead Space remake, which is still in development.

A release date for Iron Man is yet to be announced, as are confirmations of which platforms it will be available on.
