The infectious disease specialist Elisabeth Bouvet, responsible for proposing recommendations for France’s vaccination strategy, looks back on the emerging campaign, and is already warning: it is not certain at this stage that the entire population can benefit from ‘a vaccine.
Who will be eligible for a vaccine as a priority? How will the campaign be organized? Where can we get vaccinated? Now that the first positive results have been reported from a large-scale trial, these questions are getting a little more concrete. Within the interministerial Covid-19 Vaccines Task Force set up a few months ago, it is up to the High Authority for Health (HAS) to respond, in order to establish recommendations for the strategy vaccine to be deployed when France receives the first doses. Professor Elisabeth Bouvet, who chairs the Technical Committee on Vaccinations within the HAS, details to L’Express the first avenues for reflection, pending the conclusions of the vast consultation launched on November 9 by this body.
By its scale, the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 will be unprecedented. How is your work organized?
