Elon Musk’s selfie with Google co-founder Sergey Brin, taken around the time the Wall Street Journal reported that Musk slept with Brin’s ex-wife, was allegedly taken at the 40th birthday party of the Silicon Valley venture capitalist’s wife.
Musk, 51, posted a photo of himself showing Brin, 48, drinking what looks like wine from a plastic cup while they were in a crowd of revelers.
According to DailyMail.com, the couple attended a party at Steve Jurvetson’s seaside home in Half Moon Bay, California.
According to the site, Jurvetson, a venture capitalist who sits on the board of Musk’s space company SpaceX, was throwing a party for his wife Genevieve.
DailyMail.com reported that Musk flew to the remote coastal city south of San Francisco in his private jet from his home in Austin, Texas.
Musk pointed to a selfie with Brin to debunk a magazine report that he was having an affair with Google co-founder ex-wife Nicole Shanahan.

Musk, the richest man in the world, denied the claim, as did Shanahan’s lawyer.
The magazine, which backed up its report, claimed that Musk asked Brin for forgiveness last year after learning of the affair.
The report also alleges that Brin sold all of his Musk-related assets after learning of the case.
Last fall, Brin filed for divorce from Shanahan.
After the story broke, Musk told the Post he was considering a libel suit against the Journal, which is owned by the Post’s parent company, News Corp.
According to DailyMail.com, Musk and Brin attended a party at the Jurvetsons in Half Moon Bay, south of San Francisco.
“Legal action by a public figure against a news organization in America is useless. It’s better to tweet or ignore, which is what I do most of the time,” Musk told The Post in an email.
“I spoke to Sergei and Nicole about the article and they were both adamant not to speak to the WSJ or authorize anyone to speak on their behalf,” Musk wrote.
“Also, I was with Sergey from Saturday night until yesterday with many mutual friends, and it was a very positive atmosphere.”

Musk has complained about the negative media coverage of his personal life, including the news that he fathered newborn twins from an executive who works for him at his brain chip company Neuralink.
Musk is also at the center of a legal dispute with Twitter, a social network that is about to take legal action to force him to honor a $44 billion acquisition of the company.
