Elon Musk jokes about merging Tesla and Twitter into Twizzler

Entrepreneur Elon Musk is always in a jocular mood, even as he finds himself at the center of a lawsuit over the takeover of Twitter. Indeed, he stated that Tesla and Twitter would become “Twizzler”, but immediately added that it was just a joke. In addition, the lawsuit between Twitter and Elon Musk will take place from October 17 to 21 in the court of Judge Catalyn McCormick, a specialist in commercial law.

Recall that in April the businessman announced his intention to buy the social network for $44 billion, but in early July he refused. He said it was because Twitter lied about the proportion of scam and spam accounts on its platform.

Why is Twitter suing Elon Musk?

Twitter filed a lawsuit in a Delaware court on July 12. He claimed that Elon Musk was refusing to fulfill his obligations under the terms agreed at the end of April regarding the acquisition of Twitter. The deal was for him to take over social media for a whopping $44 billion. The platform’s lawyers were not stingy when they said that Musk wants to break the deal because it no longer serves him.

They accuse Elon Musk of a long list of violations of their agreements and even that he destroyed the company and also destroyed the value of the shares. Indeed, since the announcement of this takeover, Twitter’s revenues have dropped significantly. In the second quarter of 2022, the company recorded a net loss of $270 million.

Elon Musk filed a counterclaim

On Friday, the Tesla boss counterattacked by filing a lawsuit against Twitter in the same court. The details of this complaint have not yet been disclosed, it is only known that it was filed in the form of a 164-page document. However, these details may soon become known.

Note that Twitter denies hiding information about fake and spam accounts from Musk. His lawyers said he did not read the summary provided to him by the company about how it calculated the number of “bots”. Litigation promises to be stormy!
