Kanye West returned to Twitter on Monday after being suspended for a series of anti-Semitic tweets.
New Twitter owner Elon Musk praised Israel’s official Twitter account after he tweeted, “We would love to stay out of this story” in response to Kanye West’s “Shalom” tweet. “Your tweets are great! More countries should publish such tweets. It’s unpleasant to be boring, ”commented Elon Musk.
An Israeli tweet refers to a longstanding feud between rapper and singer Taylor Swift. In 2009, Kanye West burst onto the scene by winning the MTV award for best music video. He then said, “Taylor, I’m really happy for you, but Beyoncé had one of the best music videos of all time!” A conversation between the two singers later followed, posted online, where Taylor Swift said she “would really like to be left out of this story.”
Kanye West returned to the social network on Monday after his account was suspended for a series of anti-Semitic tweets last month. He decided to sign his return with a tweet with the word “Shalom” and a smiley face. Some see this as a new provocation from the rapper towards the Jewish community, while others can soften Kanye West.
