Star Wars Jedi Survivor will release on March 17, 2023.

March 2023 has been rumored for a long time after statements from journalist Jeff Grubb who previously reported on the game, including the title, before it was officially revealed, lending support to the idea that this is the planned date. This was confirmed during the Game Awards in December, where we were shown another trailer showing more about the game as well as the release date.

However, given the development cycle that has been heavily impacted by the pandemic, it’s entirely possible that the game will miss that deadline. This won’t be the first game to miss the announced release date.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

If you’re still playing on previous generation consoles like Xbox One and PS4, you’ll have to upgrade to continue Cal’s story as developer Respawn Entertainment decided to develop this console exclusively for current generation consoles so they can improve the graphics. improve accuracy even further (and presumably reduce the number of platforms they need to run on).

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor begins five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, according to information released by Respawn Entertainment during the game’s official announcement. Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant persecution as he continues to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy.

Spoilers for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ahead…

At the end of the first game, Cal Kestis faces off against Darth Vader in an incredibly memorable duel. Barely escaping his life after a confrontation, Cal must make a final choice: use the holocron data, which reveals the location of force-sensitive children in the galaxy, to restore the Jedi Order or destroy it to ensure that no more children are sacrificed to the whims of the Empire or not forced to become inquisitors.

In the end, Cal decides to destroy the holocron, and with it the data. The game ends with the question “So, where to now?”.

The second game has a huge number of possible storylines from the first game that it can follow. Now that Cal has officially become a Jedi Knight, having received this honor from Cere, he must explore his force abilities in order to better control his urges and visions of the dark side.

Once again welcoming the power in her mind, Cere must decide whether to take up arms against the empire as one of the last remaining Jedi or spend her life on the run.

We know from two trailers that Cal and his gang are on the run. Having escaped Vader, they now explore the galaxy, looking back at every step. In the first teaser trailer, we see a Pow’an wielding one of Cal’s lightsabers.

This could mean that in the sequel, Cal will only use one blade for most of the game, as we later see him fight a mysterious figure armed with a red saber using only one blade.

The trailer’s biggest mystery is the white-skinned character Cal finds in a tank of Bacta. This is a man with long gray hair who doesn’t seem to be any prominent hereditary character, so they’re probably a new creation for this story, but they seem central to the plot.

Is this the “Survivor” that the title of the game alludes to? The exact number of Jedi who survived Order 66 has never been established, allowing canon to continually introduce new Jedi, it could be another one that fights alongside Cal, or they could fall to the dark side and become the enemy we see. Cal fights in the teaser trailer.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor: trailers

We’ve only seen two trailers for the game so far – a short teaser and longer gameplay presented by Geoff Keighley at The Game Awards – but they gave us a good idea of the potential plot.

You can see the original teaser trailer below:

Here’s the full gameplay trailer that was shown at The Game Awards. We’ll see a lot more details about the game, including mounts, CIS battle droids, and a Kylo Ren-style lightsaber configuration that Cal can use.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Will Darth Vader Return?

Now that Darth Vader knows that Cere and Kal survived, you can imagine that the powerful Sith Lord would send his entire army after the team. In the trailer, we briefly see a character with a red lightsaber hidden in the shadows. It’s hard to tell if this is an Inquisitor or just another Sith Lord. The rule of two might suggest it’s not a Sith Lord, but we’ll find out soon enough. There is also the mystery of the man in the Bacta tank. Friend or foe?

So far, we haven’t seen any speculation that Darth Vader will be in Jedi Survivor, but given that his presence in the first game, Jedi Fallen Order, was pretty well hidden until the game’s release, with a small teaser of his iconic breathing sound. in the original trailer. Considering how badly he screwed us up last time, it’s probably best if Cal avoids another run-in with him anyway.

This is everything we know about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for now. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we get back to exploring the galaxy with Cal and BD-1. Will there be other legacy characters? Will Cal continue his studies?
