We first met the character of Captain Janeway, who is set to appear in the new Star Trek: Prodigy cartoon for children. Voiced by Kate Mulgrew, Janeway will serve as the starship’s embedded emergency training hologram.
Executive Producers Kevin and Dan Hageman talked about this during today’s virtual global First Contact Day panels. They also reported that the series takes place in 2383, five years after the USS Voyager returned to the Alpha Quadrant in the two-part “Endgame” (S07, E25 and 26). Plus it will be installed in the delta quadrant.
The newest animated version of Star Trek, designed and produced by Nickelodeon and CBS Studios, will premiere at Paramount + in the US in late 2021.

It is not yet known exactly who composes the teaser (above) of the young alien cast; It is believed that one of them may be Talaxian, as all of them may well come from the other side of the galaxy. The series’ official description reads: “These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered … but on their adventure together, they will each become familiar with Starfleet and the ideals it represents.”
Finally, ReedPop, the Connecticut event management company that hosted New York Comic Con, Star Wars Celebration and many other conventions around the world, announced that it will host a new official Star Trek convention in 2022 to mark First Contact Day. each subsequent year, the first being held in Chicago and then moving to another city every year, much like the annual Star Wars event.
