First LYNX R-1 Mixed Reality Headsets Coming Soon

2023 is off to a great start for French company LYNX, which has just received the first copies of its LYNX R-1 mixed reality headset.

For almost 3 years now, we have been closely following the story of this startup, which recently raised several million dollars to develop its first mixed reality headset. After several design and specification changes, the Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign raised fewer than 1,216 participants and an amount of 725,281 euros at the end of 2021.

Following production delays due to the economic situation, LYNX founder Stan Larrock yesterday greeted on Twitter the receipt of a hundred copies of his LYNX-R1. Therefore, the delivery phase to crowdfunding participants should begin soon, with all of them to be delivered by April next year. For those who missed the Kickstarter campaign, they can still pre-order the headset from the official website for 849 euros.

As a reminder, here are the specs of the LYNX R-1:

  • Processor Qualcomm XR2

  • Resolution 1600 x 1600 pixels per eye at 90 Hz
  • Field of view 90°
