Forza Horizon 5 unveils its sublime landscapes in video

While Forza Horizon 5 was officially unveiled in June, the Playground Games teams regularly take the floor to talk about their game. While we were able to discover some landscapes during the video revealing the title, this time we were able to discover the different biomes of the game. These will compose a map that will be 1.5 times larger than that of Forza Horizon 4.

Rather than focusing only on the size of the map, the developers wanted to stay true to the diversity of Mexico’s landscapes. Thus, the desire displayed by Mike Brown, creative director of the studio was to offer the most varied and contrasting decor of the series.

Mexico is a bit like the whole world in one country: snow-capped peaks, tropical jungles, canyons, superb beaches, ancient monuments but also modern cities.

To represent this diversity, Playground Games has divided the world of Forza Horizon 5 in 11 distinct biomes. Each environment will have its own particularities: the canyon, for example, will have a much stronger echo than the jungle.

List of the 11 biomes

  • Canyon
  • Tropical coast
  • Farmland
  • Arid hills
  • Jungle
  • Living desert
  • Rocky coast
  • Sand desert
  • Swamp
  • Guanajuato Urban City
  • Volcano: this will be the highest point ever seen in a title of the saga Forza Horizon

The seasons will also make a comeback as in Forza Horizon 4. But instead of having the same weather all over the country, each biome will react differently to the seasons. The world will thus evolve constantly with for example torrential rains during the spring in the jungle or tropical storms in summer on the coasts. This allows you to vary the environments throughout the game and always offer different experiences. The seasons will continue to change on a weekly basis.
