A few weeks before the start of the school year, RED by SFR, B & You and Free Mobile are relaunching their promotional offers. These three market players are betting on low-cost balanced packages that include a 70 GB envelope for mainland France. Count € 13 at RED and B & You, € 9.99 then € 19.99 at Free Mobile. Which one will win this match? Fight!
Duration and end date of promotions
Remember that all these promotions do not have the same period of validity. Only two offers are sold as “no time limit”, RED by SFR and B & You, with prices that will end only when the contract is terminated. At Free Mobile, the € 9.99 promotion will only be valid for 12 months, after one year the offer will return to its initial price of € 19.99 but will offer many more benefits. Also note the end date of our challengers promotions: the August 9 for RED, the August 10 for Free and the August 11 for B & You.
The 4G envelope in mainland France
The three subscriptions we compare here give you 70 GB of 4G data. There is therefore no winner on this point. In addition, these operators authorize the use of this data for peer-to-peer or for connection sharing (4G modem mode).
4G envelope abroad
In roaming, from the European Union and the overseas departments, RED by SFR and Free Mobile allow you to spend 10 GB. The Bouygues Telecom subsidiary takes the advantage with an additional 2 GB, ie a 12 GB envelope reserved for holidaymakers.
B & You Advantage
The unlimited voices
RED by SFR, B & You, Free offer the same voice services with unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles in France, as well as to and from Europe and the overseas departments. SMS and MMS are also unlimited to and from the same areas.
The speeds, the network
According to the latest 4G Monitor barometer which displays the level of service quality of the main mobile operators based on connection tests carried out by users, Orange retains its crown with 62.8 Mbs in reception and 12.7 Mbs in transmission, followed by SFR and Free while Bouygues continues to bring up the rear. In this month of August, SFR (at 31.2 Mbs in download and 9.4 in upload) hangs up the wagons and reattaches to Bouygues which points respectively to 34.6 Mbs and 9.7 Mbs. It doesn’t play out much between the two but Bouygues is ahead.
B & You in the lead, but only a short distance
Remember that to switch from one operator to another while keeping his phone number, you will need to obtain your RIO by dialing 3179 on your smartphone. Once your RIO has been recovered, the new operator will take care of the portability of your number.
By counting the points, we notice that the three propositions share many characteristics. B & You nevertheless manages to gain the upper hand with its additional gigabytes abroad, but its network is the least solid in the game even if the three operators are far behind Orange.
