
The French company Nexeya, which specializes in electronic equipment for the aviation and defense industries, was subjected to a “serious” cyber attack that encrypted its systems and led to a “significant” data leak. Its parent company, the German Hensoldt, announced this on 18 August.
Hensoldt, a former Airbus subsidiary specializing in military electronics, clarifies that two Nexeya data centers in France have been hit by an attack on its IT infrastructure in recent days. Attackers could steal “a significant amount of data.” Nexeya, whose website was down this Friday morning, has yet to return to normal.

Nexeya, headquartered in Toulouse, manufactures electronic systems for aircraft and their assembly lines, and develops hydrogen storage solutions. The Hensoldt group is developing sensors for Eurofighter combat aircraft and is working on a radar capable of detecting stealth aircraft.
The company does not specify whether the attack was carried out using ransomware. According to security software maker Watchguard, ransomware attacks tripled in the first quarter of 2022 compared to last year.
