French video games: Pégases 2023 prizes awarded this Thursday evening, which games are the favorites?

The ceremony will take place from 20:00 at La Cigale. It will also be streamed live on the Twitch streaming platform and for the first time on the France Télévisions Twitch channel (France.tv).

The Pégases ceremony, which brings together French professionals in the field, has been awarded since 2020 by a vote of 2,000 members of the Academy of Video Game Arts and Technology. In addition to 16 categories such as “Best Video Game”, “Best Independent Video Game”, “Best Sound Universe”, “Best Visual Excellence” or “Best Narrative Excellence”, three more awards will be given, including that of the public.

The Minister of Culture of Rome, Abdul Malak, and the Minister Delegate for Digital Transition, Jean-Noel Barraud, will attend the award ceremony.

Stray, an independent game from Montpellier-based studio BlueTwelve, topped the nominations, appearing in four categories, including the “best video game” queen. This game, which has a stray cat as its protagonist, is also a contender for Best Visual Excellence and Best First Video Game.

Stray, which has already won the title of “Best Independent Game” of the year at the Game Awards, competes with A Plague Tale: Requiem (developed by Bordeaux-based studio Asobo), which pits two young protagonists against each other. with an infestation of rats, and “Sifu”, a tribute to the martial arts cinematography of the Parisian studio Sloclap. Both have also been nominated four times and are in contention for the title of best game of the year.
